From Afield: Isla Mujeres Cemetery


At the north end of the island there is a small and very crowded cemetery with tombs dating back at least as far as the 19th century (such as the pirate Fermin Mundaca's famously empty grave). If everything is bigger in Texas, then everything is more colorful in Mexico, and I love how bright and cheerful this cemetery is.
